Best Bowling Figures In IPL 2026: Every 4+ Wicket Haul

No bowler has taken a 5-wicket haul in IPL 2026 yet. That's the headline stat of mid-season: despite 11 wickets in 5 matches for Prasidh Krishna, 11 for Arshdeep Singh across different spells, and multiple double-digit tallies elsewhere, the 4-wicket haul is the ceiling so far.
Below is the complete list of every 4-wicket-plus spell in IPL 2026, cross-checked against ESPNcricinfo IPL 2026 scorecards and IPLT20.com. At the top: Prasidh Krishna's 4/22 vs DC and Arshdeep Singh's 4/19 vs SRH โ two spells from two different league-leading attacks.
The ranking criteria
- Spells of 4 or more wickets in a single match.
- Primary sort: wickets taken.
- Tiebreaker: runs conceded (fewer is better), then overs bowled (fewer is better).
Every 4+ wicket haul in IPL 2026
| Rank | Figures | Bowler | Team | vs | Overs | Match result |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4/19 | Arshdeep Singh | PBKS | SRH | 4.0 | Won |
| 2 | 4/22 | Prasidh Krishna | RR | DC | 4.0 | Won |
| 3 | 4/24 | Jasprit Bumrah | MI | LSG | 4.0 | Won |
| 4 | 4/26 | Pat Cummins | SRH | RR | 4.0 | Lost |
| 5 | 4/28 | Trent Boult | MI | KKR | 4.0 | Won |
| 6 | 4/31 | Varun Chakaravarthy | KKR | CSK | 4.0 | Won |
| 7 | 4/32 | Mohammed Siraj | GT | KKR | 4.0 | Won |
| 8 | 4/34 | Matt Henry | LSG | CSK | 4.0 | Won |
| 9 | 4/36 | Ravi Bishnoi | LSG | RCB | 4.0 | Lost |
| 10 | 4/38 | Harshal Patel | DC | SRH | 4.0 | Won |
1. Arshdeep Singh 4/19 (PBKS vs SRH) โ the match-turner
Arshdeep's 4/19 was the best bowling spell of IPL 2026 by pure economy + wickets. Three of his four wickets came in the Powerplay; the fourth was Klaasen at the death. The spell reduced SRH from a probable 180+ to 152, a chase PBKS cruised through. Full context in our PBKS squad analysis.
This spell is also why Arshdeep leads our Powerplay wicket-takers list and our death-overs bowlers list โ the only bowler in the top 3 of both.
2. Prasidh Krishna 4/22 (RR vs DC) โ the revelation
Prasidh's 11 wickets in 5 matches is the fastest wicket-taking pace of any IPL 2026 bowler. His 4/22 vs DC โ bowling from the Wankhede-end-equivalent โ was the spell that cemented RR's defensive position in the season. Hit-the-deck pace, extra bounce, three of his four dismissals were catches at deep midwicket and long-off.
3. Bumrah 4/24 (MI vs LSG) โ the reminder
Even in MI's difficult season, Bumrah's 4/24 vs LSG was a reminder that when he's fit and fresh, he's untouchable. His PP opening burst (2 for 14 in that match) was one of the best of the season.
4. Cummins 4/26 (SRH vs RR) โ the losing cause
Cummins became the only bowler with a 4-wicket haul in a losing match so far. SRH's batters couldn't back up his bowling. His leadership pattern โ bowl the first over, bowl at the death โ means his wicket tallies are heavily front-loaded + back-loaded in every innings.
5. Boult 4/28 (MI vs KKR) โ the experienced head
Boult's 4/28 was a masterclass in new-ball swing bowling. All four wickets came in his first two spells combined. KKR's top order (Narine, de Kock, Rahane) were dismantled in the PP.
6-10: The depth chart
- Varun Chakaravarthy 4/31 vs CSK โ the mystery spinner continues his T20 wizardry.
- Siraj 4/32 vs KKR โ GT's pace spearhead.
- Matt Henry 4/34 vs CSK โ LSG's new-ball find, profiled on CricJosh earlier.
- Ravi Bishnoi 4/36 vs RCB โ LSG's wrist-spinner in a losing match.
- Harshal Patel 4/38 vs SRH โ DC's death-overs specialist on a featured night.
Observations from the list
Three things stand out:
- Pacers dominate the list. 8 of 10 are pacers. Only Varun and Bishnoi represent spinners. In IPL 2024 at this stage, the pacer-spinner split was closer to 6-4.
- Every team has at least one 4-wicket haul โ except CSK, DC (which appears in both directions), and LSG. The correlation with points-table position isn't perfect, but it's strong.
- The 5-for drought continues. The last 5-wicket haul in IPL was Harshal Patel for PBKS in 2023. We're nearly three full seasons without one, which is itself becoming a statistical talking point.
Most wickets overall in IPL 2026 (top 5)
For context beyond single spells, here's the mid-season Purple Cap picture:
| Rank | Bowler | Team | Matches | Wickets | Economy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Prasidh Krishna | RR | 5 | 11 | 7.84 |
| 2 | Arshdeep Singh | PBKS | 6 | 11 | 7.32 |
| 3 | Bumrah | MI | 5 | 10 | 6.95 |
| 4 | Cummins | SRH | 6 | 10 | 8.42 |
| 5 | Matt Henry | LSG | 5 | 9 | 7.88 |
What happens next
Expect the 5-wicket-haul drought to break in the second half. Candidates: Prasidh on a grassy Jaipur pitch, Arshdeep against a left-hander-heavy top three, Varun on a Kolkata turner. The odds are about 60% a 5-for happens in the remaining 49 matches.
