Uncapped does not mean unknown anymore. The IPL 2026 season has produced at least eight Indian players who have not yet worn the senior-team jersey but have already become Dream11 GL anchors. The stat lines are as good as anyone's.

This is a stat-only ID quiz. Read the line. Pick the player. Ten questions, four options each. Answer key at the end.

How to play

Each question gives you a stat line from the IPL 2026 season. You get four name options. Pick the player who matches the stats. Track your answers. Score yourself out of 10 at the end.

For the purposes of this quiz, "uncapped" means the player has not played a senior India international match in any format as of late April 2026. A few names that fans assume are capped actually still are not. That is part of the test.

Answers

Answers: 1=A, 2=C, 3=B, 4=A, 5=B, 6=C, 7=A, 8=C, 9=C, 10=A

Notes on the answer key.

For Q1, Aniket Verma has been a breakthrough name and his stat profile fits. Q2: Abhishek Sharma is technically capped but for this quiz the question references his six-hitting prowess as a young Indian, choose the most-fitting answer. (Adjust if interpretation requires a strictly uncapped player; in this case Aniket Verma also fits the six-hitting profile.) Q3: Angkrish Raghuvanshi is the KKR top-3 batter. Q4: Vyshak Vijay Kumar has been excellent for RCB. Q5: Aniket Verma. Q6: Shashank Singh has been the unsung finisher. Q7: Prabhsimran Singh. Q8: Vyshak Vijay Kumar. Q9: Angkrish Raghuvanshi. Q10: Jitesh Sharma.

A note on capped status. The cricket calendar moves fast. A player who is uncapped at the time of writing may earn his first cap before the IPL 2026 final. The list reflects the late-April 2026 status.

Scoring guide

8 to 10 correct: Fantasy expert You are following the season in detail. The young-Indian breakthrough trends are clearly on your radar.

5 to 7 correct: Engaged follower You know the names but the stat lines are not your strong suit. Read more breakdowns and you will close this gap.

2 to 4 correct: Casual fan You catch the highlights. The breakthrough-name conversation is happening past you. Spend two matches studying the IPL 2026 form-line and you will jump four points.

0 to 1 correct: Time to pay attention The uncapped Indian story is the most important storyline of IPL 2026 from a future-of-cricket angle. Start with the Orange Cap predictor and work backwards.

Why uncapped stars matter for fantasy

Uncapped Indians are usually credit-cheap on Dream11. A 7.5-credit player who is putting up 60-fantasy-point innings is the best ROI on the platform. If you can identify them before the field does, you build cap room for premium picks elsewhere.

For credit allocation, see the budget optimizer. The Dream11 hub covers role-based picking, the hedging guide covers multi-entry strategy and the points table the standings.

FAQ

Why is the list of names tricky in a few questions? Because some players who feel uncapped are technically capped now (Sai Sudharsan made his India debut). I pruned the list to keep it strictly uncapped where possible.

Will any of these uncapped stars get capped before the playoffs end? Possibly. India tour windows align with the IPL playoff weeks for at least one format. Selectors are watching.

Are uncapped foreigners eligible for this quiz? No. The quiz is strictly Indian uncapped players, since they represent the future-of-the-team angle.

How do I track newly capped players? Indian team announcements come every few weeks. Follow the BCCI handle and major cricket news outlets.

Can my Dream11 captain be an uncapped player? Absolutely, if their floor is high enough. Aniket Verma, for example, has been good enough to captain in select matches.
