His best season came in 2016 when he amassed a staggering 973 runs in a single campaign, a record that still stands and may never be broken. That season included four centuries and seven fifties in just 16 innings, with a strike rate of 152.03.

Behind Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan (6,769 runs) and Rohit Sharma (6,586 runs) complete the top three. Suresh Raina, often called "Mr. IPL", retired with 5,528 runs and was the first player to reach 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, and 5,000 IPL runs.

Highest Score in IPL — Gayle's 175*

Chris Gayle's 175 not out against Pune Warriors India in 2013 is arguably the most iconic innings in IPL history. Gayle reached his century off just 30 balls (the fastest IPL century ever) and went on to score 175* off 66 deliveries, smashing 17 sixes and 13 fours. RCB posted 263/5 in that match, and Gayle's strike rate was an astonishing 265.15.

Fastest Fifty in IPL — KL Rahul's 14-Ball Blitz

KL Rahul smashed the fastest fifty in IPL history when he reached 50 off just 14 balls for Punjab Kings against Delhi Capitals in 2018. That innings saw Rahul finish with 51 off 16 balls, helping his team to a blazing start in the powerplay.

Most Wickets in IPL — Chahal's 205

Yuzvendra Chahal surpassed Dwayne Bravo's long-standing record to become the all-time leading wicket-taker in the IPL with 205 wickets. The leg-spinner has been one of the most consistent performers across his time with RCB and later Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. Best Bowling Figures — Alzarri Joseph's 6/12

Alzarri Joseph produced one of the most sensational debut performances in IPL history when he took 6 wickets for just 12 runs for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2019. There have been 12 hat-tricks in IPL history. Amit Mishra is the only bowler to have taken three hat-tricks, making him the undisputed king of IPL hat-tricks.

Highest Team Total — RCB's 287/3

Royal Challengers Bangalore posted the highest-ever IPL total of 287/3 against Gujarat Lions in 2017. Most IPL Titles

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are tied at the top with 5 titles each. MI won in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020 — three of those finals decided by the narrowest of margins. CSK won in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023, making MS Dhoni the most successful captain in IPL history. Kolkata Knight Riders have won 3 titles (2012, 2014, 2024), while the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals won in 2008.
